Save System Resources That Get bogged Down By Internet Speed Monitor
By Saraw
There
are a few tricks to improve the speed of your computer programs. Slowdown is
often caused by programs such as the Internet Speed Monitor virus. They clutter up your
computer by scattering files throughout your hard drive. Your computer will
often call on these files upon starting your computer. With these programs
running in the background, your system resources are being consumed which slows
down almost every other process.
You can free up your system resources by removing programs from your startup
items. These programs are started every time you run your computer and continue
to operate even though you can't see them. Many of them are invisible. A good
number of these are not necessary such as Internet Speed Monitor and can safely
be removed from the startup process.
Deactivating Startup Items
Here
are the instructions for deactivating startup items.
1) Click start---then click run---then type in MSconfig---then press enter
2) Click the tab that says startup
3) Uncheck all of the boxes for the programs that you are eliminating from
startup
4) Click Apply then restart your computer
Important: If you aren't sure what a program is, do not un-check it!
You can look up each program with Google.
Removing your temporary internet files as well as cookies and many other
unnecessary files can also help. You can use Piriform CCleaner or a similar
program to do this. It easily removes the clutter with the press of a button.
You should also use registry cleaners for the best performance and spyware removal software to remove Internet Speed Monitor and other malicious software that slows down your computer.
Defragmenting Your Computer
Defragmenting
your computer puts everything into it's proper place. You can compare your
computer to having a home where everything is just tossed somewhere and you
have to look in every room to find stuff. Your computer becomes defragmented
over time by installing, removing, moving and updating files. Before you know it
your computer has to check all over your hard drive just to get one program to
operate. When you defragment, you put all these files into one place on your
hard drive. This eliminates the process of having to check empty spaces to
bring things together.
Here is how You Defragment Your Computer
1) Open the file called My Computer---then click local disk--- then click on
properties.
2) Go to the Tools tab and ckick defragment Now. This will open your Disk
defragmenter.
3) Click on your first hard disk---then you click Defragment.
Do this for all of your discs for the best results.
